Terms of Service
Last updated 10 September 2026
The short version. Your CV stays yours. The edited document is yours too. We only get permission to process your file in order to produce the edits you asked for. Do not upload someone else’s CV without their permission, and do not treat our suggestions as a guarantee of getting a job.
1. Who you are contracting with
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] (Reframe), [Registered address], registration [Registration number]. By creating an account you accept them.
2. What the service does
Reframe reads a CV you upload and a job description you provide, and proposes changes to the wording of your CV so that relevant experience is easier to see. You review each proposed change and decide which to keep. Where your file is a Word document, accepted changes are written back into that document as tracked changes, preserving its formatting. PDF and plain-text files are re-typeset as a new Word document, because a PDF cannot be edited in place without degrading it.
3. Intellectual property: your CV and your result
3.1 Your content stays yours
You keep every right you already had in your CV and in anything else you upload or paste. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your content to us.
3.2 The licence you give us
To run the service we need a narrow permission. You grant Reframe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit and process your uploaded content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. This licence exists only while we hold the content and ends when it is deleted. It does not permit us to publish your content, share it with third parties beyond the processors listed in our privacy policy, use it to train AI models, or use it for marketing.
3.3 The edited document is yours
To the extent that the edits we generate attract any intellectual property rights, we assign those rights to you on delivery. You may use, modify, publish and distribute your tailored CV without restriction, credit or fee. We claim nothing over your applications.
3.4 Content you do not own
Only upload a CV that is yours, or one you have clear permission to process — for example if you are a career coach or recruiter acting for a client. Uploading someone else’s CV without their knowledge is both a breach of these terms and, in most of Europe, a breach of data protection law. If you upload a third party’s CV you confirm you have the legal basis to do so, and you are responsible for the consequences if you did not.
3.5 Job descriptions
A job posting is usually written by an employer and may be protected by copyright. You paste it for the purpose of analysing a role you intend to apply for, which is a normal and limited use. We do not republish job descriptions, and we do not build a public database of them.
3.6 Our own material
The Reframe software, interface, brand and written content belong to us. You may use the service, but not copy the product itself, resell access to it, or use it to build a competing service.
4. What we do not promise
- No guarantee of employment. A tailored CV improves how your experience reads. It does not guarantee an interview, an offer or a job.
- The edits are suggestions. They are produced with the help of an AI model. Although every suggestion is checked against your CV before you see it, you are the last check. Read what you accept — you are the one signing the application.
- Accuracy is your responsibility. You must not use the service to state anything about yourself that is untrue. If an edit overstates what you did, reject it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you have no right to process;
- use the service to create deliberately misleading credentials;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service;
- resell or redistribute access to your account;
- use the service to process CVs at volume on behalf of others on a plan that does not permit it.
We may suspend an account that breaches these rules. Where the breach is not serious we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
6. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@cvreframe.com if you believe someone else has access.
7. Plans, payment and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record and issues your invoice. Prices are shown before you pay and include applicable tax. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; your plan then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Free-plan allowances reset monthly and do not accumulate. If we change our prices, existing subscribers are told at least 30 days in advance and may cancel before the new price applies.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change features over time; if we remove something significant you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €100 if you are on a free plan. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost job opportunities, lost earnings or reputational harm.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep all mandatory statutory rights, and nothing here reduces them.
10. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from your settings, which deletes your documents and applications. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, and we will say why. Sections 3, 4, 9 and 11 survive termination.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy in your country of residence. We would rather solve a problem than argue about it: write to hello@cvreframe.com first, and we will make a genuine attempt to resolve it.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.
